Set up IPTV on
Steam Deck.
The Steam Deck runs SteamOS, which is Linux underneath. You can install an IPTV player in desktop mode that supports Xtream Codes login or M3U URLs, then add it to your Steam library for easy access from game mode.
Before you start
- A Steam Deck
- An internet connection
- Your login details from us
Step by step
Switch to desktop mode
Press the Steam button, go to Power, and choose Switch to Desktop.
Open the Discover store
Launch Discover from the taskbar and search for an IPTV player or VLC.
Install and configure
Install the app. If it supports Xtream Codes, enter the username, password and server address we sent you. Otherwise, paste your M3U playlist link into VLC.
Add it to Steam
In desktop Steam, choose Games, then Add a Non-Steam Game, and select the player so it appears in game mode.
Return to game mode
You can now return to game mode to watch, and the player will be listed alongside your games.
- Good to know
Xtream Codes login provides the best experience with full TV guide and VOD. M3U URLs work but are more limited.
Steam Deck FAQs
Can I watch in game mode?
Yes, once you add the player as a non-Steam game it launches from game mode.
Does the OLED model change anything?
No, the setup is identical across Steam Deck models.
Which login method should I use?
If your player supports Xtream Codes, use that for the full TV guide and organized content. Otherwise, M3U URLs work with VLC.
